Saint mary's Island!!!

Probably this is the third time I have visited this place and and it felt like home coming!! No doubt that Mangalore can be extemes any day... hottest summer days... pouring non stop rainy days...... salty :-) breezy winds... and god knows whats winter at mangalore I have not visited ............
[ Food for thought... I can make my next trip in winter to fill this gap ;-) ]

Udupi is a small district with ethereal beauty of lord Krishana..Oh yes ...Its the same Udupi of "Udupi Hotels" world wide famous ;-) ..... It's about from Mangalore and 10 Kms from this place is "Malpe" Basically a fisherman's heaven [ You got to adjoust to the "fish " it just smells Fishy :-) ] Malpe also has one of the oldest tile making establishments!!... What's more Malpe is a natural port!!!

Malpe...great picnic spot with the long streching endless gloden virgin beach.... Gently swaying palm trees....... enthralling gurgle of sea........ clear blue sky.... makes it more enchanting !!!!!
Seven nautical miles from Malpe beach is a delightful getaway.... raechable by a simple ferry-ride across sea " Saint mary's Island " ..... its simply heaven by beauty....... not weather...... Though the authorities do not allow to land on the Island when there are heavy winds across the sea but worth a visit and believe me it beckons you with those salty sweet breeze ........... every time to go back....

On the whole Island you find massive , natural, volcanic, hexagonal shaped pillar like rocks grouped together in various numbers and sizes........ They are a feast to a nature lovers eyes...
The sea between these rocky Islands and the shore is a very safe place for anchorage even in the rough stormy weather....
Believe me either that you will not want to return back from there or keep returning back to that heaven always
